Interviewer : What’s the hardest part about film making?
Mel Brooks: Cutting the little holes down the side of the film.
While on a semester exchange at Simmons College in the fall of 1982, I walked through Boston’s infamous “Combat Zone”—the name given in the 1960s to the adult entertainment district in downtown Boston, Massachusetts—with a super 8 camera. Thus was born my first attempt at documentary filmmaking.
